History/Our Story

The story of BrightPath began under a different name.  Originating in May of 2010, Edleun (Education Learning Universe) was formed with the acquisition of eleven child care centres in Alberta.  With the vision of raising the standard of child care in Canada, Edleun began a pattern of rapid growth over the next three years, acquiring a total of 49 centres.  Post-acquisition, many changes were implemented into these existing facilities, including physical upgrades and product improvements.  Educational curriculum and programming was rolled out at all age levels and a nutritious menu plan was introduced.

Over the summer of 2013, Edleun transitioned to its new name – BrightPath.  The change was made to better reflect who we are and what we do for the families we serve.  The caregivers and educators in our centres assist the children on their path through childhood; it is a journey, not a destination.  The company mission expanded to state that our model of care will provide the best intellectual, social and physical child development programs, delivered by capable and nurturing staff within the best environments.

BrightPath's continued external growth plan includes strategic acquisitions and new centre openings through partnerships with prominent real estate developers. We look towards underserved markets and communities where limited childcare facilities currently exist always providing top quality in care and programming. With that, we have built five "state-of-the-art" facilities, called “greenfields”, which boast an incredible array of amenities for families who attend, which include an indoor gymnasium, spacious rooms and industry-leading technology in the classrooms.

All new centres are built to change the way children learn and provide the environment to support the very best in holistic education and care.  To see more on the BrightPath difference, please take a Virtual Tour of our latest developments.
